Welcome to Class 2 Arkansas, a site dedicated to paddling kayaks and canoes on the streams and rivers of Arkansas. No giant waterfall plunges, no death-defying runs on super steep creeks, no trips on whitewater during flood events, just paddling entertainment for the average person. The site is under construction by a total beginner to website setup, so bear with me. What will be here in the future?
- Descriptions of places to paddle, from Class I to Class II+
- Trip announcements so you can join in the fun
- Trip reports with photos and maybe videos
- An opportunity for you to describe, announce, or report
It will be aimed at people with their own boats and some paddling experience. Beginning paddlers with their own boats and gear should find the site useful, also. Check back again!
Hello from Newcreek. I’ve been paddling canoes and kayaks in Arkansas for about 30 years and am still finding places to paddle that I’ve never been to before. This site is a place to share information about fun places to paddle, places that are not too difficult for the average person to handle safely. If you enjoy paddling moderate streams and rivers and don’t need white-knuckled death-defying thrills in order to have a good time, this could be the place for you. It’s just a place to find out where I”ve been paddling and to tell me where you’ve paddled and had a fun time. I rarely paddle places where a shuttle service is provided so I”m always looking for company. I hope this site will become a useful tool for getting people together to go paddling.
PLACES TO PADDLE – a page of description is devoted to each of the following:
1. Caddo River from Lower Dam Pike to Hwy. 67
2. Caddo River from Hwy. 182 to Hwy. 84
3. Hill Creek near Greers Ferry
4. Dave Creek in Fairfield Bay
Captian, I believe you are doing a wonderful thing here.
